New Year’s resolutions are usually based on an all or nothing mindset, which generally sets you up for failure or burnout. Unrealistic resolutions can lead to unrealistic expectations and then to disappointment when you are unable to meet either. Impractical resolutions like losing 15 lbs in a month, sticking to an extreme diet, and spending multiple hours a day working out ultimately lead to failure.
The truth is these kinds of resolutions never work!
It’s not that you didn’t have the willpower, it may have been that you didn’t have the proper tools or the healthy foundations to create a sustainable change in your lifestyle.
