Taking The First Step

There is never a perfect time to commit to your fitness journey.

We are always looking for a good time to restart our fitness routine. Real talk… there’s never going to be a “perfect” time. We can always find excuses to prevent ourselves from doing hard things. There will always be other obligations with work, your family, your friends…. but what about you? As we move throughout our lives, it’s easy to get caught up in the needs of others and forget about the needs of ourselves (the most important relationship we will ever have!)

Need some help taking the first step? Try these proven tips for a successful restart to your fitness routine.

Schedule your workouts into your calendar.

When we block time off in our day for ourselves, we are more likely to stick to it, just like we would any work meeting scheduled on our calendar. We can guarantee that your time scheduled for yourself will be more rewarding and make your day more productive overall!

Lay out your workout outfit the night before.

There’s nothing like having that cute set waiting for you on your dresser. Having a visual reminder of your workout will push you to get it done!

Start small.

Going from 0 workouts to 6 workouts each week is not sustainable long-term. If 6 workouts each week is your goal, slowly work your way up to it! Start with 3 workouts each week to get yourself into the groove of your new routine and slowly increase your workouts every few weeks.

Commit to a workout program.

It can feel overwhelming to get started. Starting a curated workout program takes the guess work out of your routine and provides that extra bit of motivation. Make it as easy as possible, all you have to do is press the start button on your next workout.

Stop waiting for the “perfect” time to get yourself moving.

Sometimes, all the takes is the first step to kickstart your fitness routine. You’ll thank yourself for diving in. You got this!

xoxo,

BBS
