Goal setting is a tool that can help you get what you want out of life. Powerful goals are specific and inspiring, giving you focus in your daily life. At BBS, we help clients set S.M.A.R.T Goals during the 8 Week Program and in Personal Training sessions. Today, we’re giving you the tools so that you can set powerful goals for yourself at home!
S - BE SPECIFIC
A goal needs to be specific so you’re clear on what it is!
For example, instead of “to get stronger”, try “to do push ups.”
M - MAKE IT MEASUREABLE
So that you know exactly when you have achieved it!
For example, instead of “to do push ups”, try “to do TEN push ups.”
A - MAKE IT AUTHENTIC
YOU should want to achieve this goal! Check in with yourself to make sure you’re setting this goal for yourself and no one else!
R - IS IT REALISTIC?
Don’t set goals that will happen anyway, set goals that require growth! Push what’s possible, but make sure it’s realistic in the time you have.
T - MAKE IT TIMELY
When are you going to achieve this goal by? Set yourself a date in order to keep yourself accountable.
For example, “I will do 10 push ups by October 31st - the last day of the BBS Elevate Challenge.”
Once you have worked through these steps, you should be able to fill in this sentence clearly :
