Q&A with NY Senior Trainer Kat Brunner

"We are so lucky to wake up every day" - Kat

What would you tell your teenage self?

"The size of your waist has nothing to do with your worth." I felt the need to make myself smaller, both physically and emotionally, to be accepted by those around me. Exercise was something that I felt was a chore, not something I wanted to do. When I was able to release the idea that I needed to be "thin" to be loved, I was able to learn to truly love myself and my body. I now exercise FOR my body, not TO my body. We are so lucky to wake up every day; to dance, to laugh, to hug people we love - I try not to ever take that for granted.

What is your favorite movie and why?

I love anything Pixar, but I could watch "Inside Out" on repeat. It's so smart, witty, and creative in the way that it explains our emotions and the importance of expressing how we are feeling!

What is your favorite music genre to play in class?

Honestly, I'm a mixed bag when it comes to music! I like everything - truly! I love bubblegum pop - think T-swift, Britney Spears... but I also LOVE hip-hop and rap. The new Drake album is FIRE!

Tell us something most people don’t know about you!

I can list all the presidents in order! I learned a song in 3rd grade that I still remember and can sing for anyone who asks 😉. We were given 50 cents to buy a cookie at lunch if we got it right... so, you better bet that I studied hard for that!

xx
