Eat breakfast – no excuses!
When people try and lose weight they automatically think that cutting back calories is the way to do it, and they start by cutting out breakfast.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!
After not eating for 10-12 hours, and then skipping out on breakfast, you are more likely to make poor choices for lunch. Even if it is something small I would recommend a piece of fruit, a hard-boiled egg, a smoothie, or raw muesli – breakfast will reignite your metabolic fire and give you energy to start your day.
Here’s a recipe for my raw muesli, perfect for when you’re craving a good crunch!
8 oz uncooked rolled oats
1 c almond milk
1 tbsp unsweetened shredded coconut
2 tbsp chopped walnuts or almonds
2 tbsp ground flaxseeds
2 tbsp sesame seeds
2 tbsp pumpkin seeds
8 oz fresh berries
1 apple, peeled and grated
In a large bowl, mix together the oats, nut milk, shredded coconut, nuts, and seeds. Cover and place in fridge overnight. In the morning, add berries and grated apple and serve. Makes 4 servings.
